Opening to the public for the first time, discover Moot Hill and its thousands of years of history. Learn about the work undertaken so far to understand and protect the site, and hear about exciting plans to share and conserve it for the future.

Moot Hill represents a rare opportunity to visit a site of exceptional historic significance and to learn about the journey being undertaken to secure its future. Designated as a Heritage at Risk site, it faces a number of challenges, making its protection and long-term management particularly important.

Visitors will hear about the site's historical importance, the discoveries and research carried out to date, and the practical conservation work that is helping to safeguard this unique place. Members of the team will be on hand to explain the site's significance and answer questions about its past, present and future.

This event also marks an important milestone for Norfolk Archaeological Trust. Moot Hill is the first site acquired by the Trust for several decades, representing a major commitment to preserving Norfolk's archaeological heritage. Learn why the Trust chose to take on the site, what has been achieved since its acquisition, and how community support and involvement are helping to shape the next chapter in its story.

Accessibility details

Please note that Moot Hill is an ancient monument and a Heritage at Risk site. Access is via uneven ground, with slopes and areas of rough terrain. The site may be unsuitable for some wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Sturdy footwear is recommended, and visitors should dress appropriately for the weather, as the event takes place entirely outdoors. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
