Banjo, Ballads and Bagpipes - songs, stories and tunes.

For centuries, the Border country between England and Scotland was a turbulent land of raiders, clans, shepherds and travellers—and a rich source of songs, stories and instrumental music. Bill Lloyd presents a lively journey through this remarkable tradition, from ancient Border ballads, songs of the Gypsy fairs, and the distinctive music of the different types of bagpipe. Along the way, the songs reveal surprising connections across Britain and the Atlantic, including traditions carried from the British Isles into the folk music of America.

Preformance starting at 19:30, finishing by 20:30. Following this there will be a chance to get on stage yourself for a bit of open mic.
