  • Multiple dates available
  • | In person
  • | Pre-booking not required

Discover the story of Queenie Frankpit and the other laundresses as you explore the working week in Killerton's historic laundry.

Follow Queenie through her daily tasks and get a feel for the working conditions in a laundry from the early 20th century. Experience the processes and equipment that was state of the art at the time yet a world away from the modern appliances we rely on today.

There will be interactive activities, traditional garments, historic equipment, and written story-telling for you to explore.

This event was created in collaboration with leading family history website Findmypast, sponsors of ‘Everyday Histories’, the festival theme.
