Home to the Hyde Parker family for 240 years, set in picturesque garden and parkland. Explore the history of Melford Hall and trace its evolution through the centuries, from its ownership by Benedictine monks to its royal connections and visits by Beatrix Potter.
Walk around the acres of parkland with routes that include views of the Suffolk countryside, village and resident livestock.
Have a look at our walled gardens with herbaceous borders, woodland corner and lawns with topiary, espaliered fruit trees and a reflecting pond. When you have finished exploring why not pay a visit to our tearooms with indoor and outdoor seating, serving hot and cold drinks and a delicious selection of cakes, ice creams, lunches and cream teas. We also have a second hand bookshop where you may find your next great read.

Accessibility details

Mobility vehicles are available for hire but must be booked in advance by calling 01787 379 228. A shuttle bus is available for transport from the car park to the house (approx. 300yds).

Additional information

Dogs are welcome in the parkland on a short lead and in the tearoom seating area of the garden, there is also a dog friendly tearoom seating are indoors.
