A nostalgic walk through Reading streets we retrace the 1984 RAG Float Parade route – a celebration of creativity, community and charity. ‘Raising and Giving’ (RAG) has long been at the heart of Reading Students’ Union’s fundraising spirit.

Join us for a nostalgic walk from UoR London Road Campus (Museum of English Rural Life - MERL) through the town centre and return to the MERL, as we retrace 1984 RAG Float Parade route – ‘Raising and Giving’ (RAG) has long been at the heart of Reading Students’ Union’s fundraising spirit. We’ll pause at key points along the parade route to revisit the energy and excitement of past RAG parades through photographs, stories, memories, including several corny jokes of the era,.

We will be walking along roads with pavements and pedestrian paths, some narrow. There are moderate slopes and a section of narrow path on gravel plus some steps, wheelchair slopes are often available, but their quality varies Easy to Medium difficulty / 3.8km / 2.25 hours long, may over run wrt time.
