  • 19 Sep 2026
  • | In person
  • | Pre-booking preferred
  • | Site opening

A 16th century cruck framed barn and associated out buildings housing a collection of historic farm and domestic tools and equipment. Hear about the barns' restoration in 2011 and see some farm achieve. All alongside our Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Guided tour of the barn highlighting features such as reused timbers, carpenters marks and historic features, a bit of chat around the barns use in current ownership. In 1953 the farm had 44 staff, we have some old photos and stories to share but would love to hear from anyone with links to or memories of the farm either New Hall or Low Laithes. Have a go at sowing seeds using a seed lip and investigate the fiddle drills.
A powerpoint presentation will be running showing pictures of various stages of the restoration work.
There will be an opportunity to try your hand on a shave horse and a pole lathe, or simply watch the experts at work.
Alongside our HOD we will be selling home baked refreshments in aid of Macmillan Coffee Morning.
