A walk around the town looking at the work of two prominent local Victorian architects - Edward Swinfen Harris and Richard Sheppard. We will look at the house built for Frederick Taylor (of mustard fame) and visit the family tomb in the churchyard.

This exploration of Harris’s work builds on presentations and walks in previous Heritage Open Days events to demonstrate his impact on the settlements of north Buckinghamshire. His contemporary, Richard Sheppard, is also important (albeit that his style is not as recognisable as Harris’s) and the walk will enable us to look at significant work by both architects.
