Discover the ancestral home of the poet, Lord Byron, with free entry into the Medieval Cloisters. Originally, built as an Augustinian Priory in the 12th century, becoming the Byron country seat in 1540. Lots to see and do for families.

Visit the medieval Cloisters, the domain of the Friars of Newstead, who lived here over 850 years ago. Our guides will be on hand to tell you the stories of Newstead, perhaps you may even encounter one of the resident ghosts, so keep your eyes peeled.
