Join us in the house to explore the famous Thomas More portrait through interactive games and activities. Recreate your own Tudor family portrait with a selection of fantastic costumes and discover what your clothing would have said about your status and identity in Tudor times.

Perfect for families looking for a shorter visit, this pop-in experience offers a new way to enjoy the house, giving you the chance to see this remarkable painting and take part in the dressing-up activities without touring the entire house.

Step into the world of the Tudors, strike a pose for your family portrait, and uncover the stories hidden within one of Nostell's most celebrated artworks.

Uncover the secrets of the Thomas More family portrait

Experience history like never before as the team invite you to watch as they begin in-situ analysis of the painting. The team from the Hamilton Kerr institute will be using a host of heritage science techniques to learn more about the painting, and its origins. The analysis, which will use infrared reflectography, X-ray scanning, paint sample analysis and microscopy to learn more about the painting.

The painting will be in the Top Hall fpr the duration of the technical analysis, and will be open for visitors to watch and learn more about.
