Octagon Chapel

Built in 1756 the Chapel is home to a thriving congregation of local Unitarians. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the splendid interior of this unique building and to learn more about its architecture and history. Although primarily a place of worship, it is also well known as a venue for concerts and other musical events.
As part of the programme of Heritage Open Days there will be a circular guided walk, with the theme of Architecture led by historian Charles Lewis on Saturday 13th September and Saturday 20th September at 1400. The walk starts at the Octagon Chapel, connecting sites and their stories on both sides of the river, It lasts approximately 90 minutes. Friday 12th September Compline by Aether from 1930 - 2100.
A live audio-visual performance re-imagining the space at the Octagon Chapel as the light changes from day to night through sound, projection and live drawing.
The performance will be 2 sections of approx. 35 - 45 minutes each during the course of the evening with some time towards the end for visitors to try out making bio sonic sounds and becoming part of the projection.
This event is free to attend, with donations to the artists time & costs very welcome.
There will be organ music played on both Saturday afternoons.

Level access via a ramp through the garden at the side of the Chapel.
There are Unitarian services held at 1100 on Sunday 14th and Sunday 21st September, all are welcome.
