On Saturday 12th September 2026, St Michael's Parish Church, Kirkham is holding a Community and Heritage Open Day as part of the centenary celebrations of the Diocese of Blackburn.
The Open Day will feature stalls showcasing the work of over 20 community organisations or groups which are run by or at the church as well as an open viewing of the Kirkham-in-Amounderness Local History and Heritage Collection which is held in a separate area of the church building.
During the afternoon, there will be two guided walks through the older areas of the Church's graveyard, visiting some historic gravestones and memorials which tell the stories of Kirkham's past
