Parish Church of St Agatha, Sparkbrook

St Agatha's Parish Church, Stratford Road, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, West Midlands, B11 1QT

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Spectacular Neo-Gothic Grade 1 listed Bidlake church, opened in 1901. Informative guides and displays of church and local history. Light refreshments are available throughout the hours of opening.

This historic Church was built to replace Christ Church in what is now Victoria Square and quickly became a beacon of Anglo-Catholic worship, a tradition proudly upheld to the present day. Now it is also host to a Russian Orthodox congregation, meeting on Saturdays in the side aisle; please avoid this area if their Liturgy is ongoing during your visit. You can wander freely elsewhere in the church. The cathedral like interior and fine ecclesiastical furnishings are most conducive to peace and reflection!
