Poole Masonic Hall

Located in Poole’s historic Old Town, historically part of Market Street, is a Grade II listed building originally serving as a private house and now operating as a Masonic lodge. The building of two storeys and a four-window range, features a late 18th-century front with classic header-bond brickwork, stucco dressings, and a steep tiled roof. The interior is historically notable for ornate carved mahogany panelling both in the dining room and lodge room (reportedly donated by Lord Wimborne) and a decorated terracotta chimneypiece bearing Masonic symbols. The building is situated in the Poole Town Centre Heritage Conservation Area, an area rooted in the maritime and merchant prosperity of 16th and 18th-century Newfoundland trade.
