"Powered By Community" - Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre's 50th Anniversary Exhibition

"Powered by Community" is an exhibition, funded by New Wave, created by young photographers to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre.
The exhibition features fifty portraits of individuals that make up Leicester's LGBTQ+ community today, highlighting the resilience, diversity, and visibility of the present-day community. In capturing a snapshot of the LGBTQ+ community today, "Powered by Community" is a reflection of how far we have come over the past five decades since the Centre was founded and a celebration of the groundwork that made this progress possible.
Displayed on the Mezzanine at the Curve in the heart of Leicester, "Powered by Community" is a unique opportunity to celebrate our local LGBTQ+ community and reflect on the rich legacy of LGBTQ+ activism in our city.
The exhibition will conclude with an unmissable celebration event on the closing night (18 September, 6-8 PM), with live performances, refreshments, the opportunity to hear from the creatives involved, and to celebrate 50 years of community activism.
