The entire ground floor of the Birthplace is accessible for wheelchair users, however the entrance way requires a wheelchair ramp and the main area of the house is accessed via a short flight of stairs or a chair lift. Due to the historic nature of the property are some areas of uneven flooring and narrow entrance ways, but there are many places to sit down and rest during your visit. The exhibition will not feature loud noises or flashing lights. Our volunteers would be happy to explain objects in further detail, or read out signage to visitors.
