Retail Tales: a look back at Bradford's Retail History

Darley Street Market, 16 - 24 Darley St, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 3HH

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Join us for a special archive film screening showcasing Bradford’s retail and trade history on the Darley Street Market big screen, brought to you by Yorkshire and North East Film Archive.

At 10am, 1pm and 4pm each day from 12th-19th September during this year’s Heritage Open Days festival, we’ll be showing a number of curated short clips to celebrate Bradford’s rich industry, from the mills and textile traders, to the local businesses and bustling markets. See the films from the archive collection on the big screen in the Darley Street Market Courtyard.

All of this would not be possible without the preservation of archive films. You will also have the chance to learn about project ‘Screen Time’ - an opportunity to have YOUR films and moving image content preserved with Yorkshire and North East Film Archive, to ensure the Bradford of today is also preserved for future generations to look back on.
