REVOLVE – an exhibition of original art
8 College Yard, Worcester, Worcestershire, WR1 2LA
REVOLVE is an art exhibition, the culmination of a year-long art project comprising 15 artists who have each spent the past 12 months making an original piece of art per week.
The project was set up to encourage exploration and experimentation within the artists' practice. Many different themes and ideas have been explored in a variety of media. Some artists have worked on the same theme throughout the year, others have treated it as a way to learn a new process or just experiment and push the boundaries of their practice. The resultant works are a fascinating insight into how each artist works and sees the world.
REVOLVE is the inaugural event in Worcester Arts Collective's new home at 8 College Yard. This Grade II listed building, built in the mid-17th century, is situated opposite the Cathedral main entrance. It has been lived in by many people over the years, including Sir Ivor Atkins, the Cathedral organist, who was a friend of the composer Sir Edward Elgar.
Worcester Arts Collective is a thriving community of artists based in the heart of Worcester. We organise exhibitions and events, provide workshop and gallery space, and support creative initiatives that empower local artists. We are dedicated to supporting and showcasing local artists, fostering creativity, and making art accessible to all. Our charitable aims are to reach as many people and places as possible, working with local organisations on creative projects that enrich the city’s cultural life.
