River Festival Coventry at Charterhouse Autumn 2026

Join in the fun celebrating the River Sherbourne at this FREE festival at Charterhouse, Coventry on 19th and 20th September, between 11am and 4pm each day.
The festival will deliver an exciting lineup of activities to showcase the creativity, culture and passion of the local community. Attendees can look forward to a variety of free activities, including theatrical performances, live music, storytelling sessions, guided river walks, interactive crafts and workshops. There will be opportunities to meet and take photos with the Sherbourne Valley Project’s mascot, Lady Good-Diver, who represents this special river.
There will be several stalls from local nature and heritage organisations, with fun activities and learning to be found at each! The on-site café can provide incredible food and drink options to keep you refreshed throughout the day. Explore the historic Charterhouse building and it’s remarkable medieval and Tudor wall paintings. This weekend-long festival is guaranteed to be a fun day out for nature, local culture, and heritage enthusiasts, as well as families or anyone who enjoys joining a good celebration!

The two rooms with the Tudor and Medieval wall paintings are not fully accessible, however the paintings are reproduced elsewhere in the house and there are images and digital reproductions of those rooms available to see.
