Rowsley Old Station to Rowsley South historical walk

The walk will start near the old station building then visit the railway cottages on Chatsworth Road. After crossing the A6 the site of the 1863 station and dairy will be visited before walking past the site of the marshalling yard. The walk will end at the Peak Rail station at Rowsley South. The walk will be on pavements and then footpaths and some rough ground in the old marshalling yard. Participants will need to come in stout footwear and with rain gear. Participants will need to pre register and the maximum party size will be 12. The walk will start from the Bamford's Auctioneers sign in the Peak Village shopping centre where free parking will be available. At the end of the walk refreshments will be available for purchase in the station buffet. Participants will be given information about public transport back to the Peak Village Shopping Centre and return lifts will be available for car drivers. The walk will start at 10.30 and is expected to last two hours.
