Royal Armouries - Forgotten Stories of India and the Commonwealth from World Wars to present
Royal Armouries, Armouries Drive, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS10 1LT
Believe in Me CIC, in partnership with the Royal Armouries and as part of Heritage Open Days, invites you to explore the often-overlooked stories of India and the Commonwealth, from the World Wars to the present day.
Hosted at the Royal Armouries, this free family fun day features talks, activities, storytelling and community exhibitions. Discover the stories of Indian princesses who supported the war effort, Indian soldiers who served, and the experiences of children during wartime.
Learn how people from across the Commonwealth contributed during the wars and how, in the years that followed, many South Asian families helped shape the communities of Leeds.
This event is free but booking is advised via Eventbrite. Explore the museum, hear inspiring community stories, and share your own as we celebrate our shared heritage.
