Exhibitions and talks by RSPB Old Moor, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Doncaster Archives , Friends of Hemingfield Colliery and football historian Chris Brook. All talks are 'book in advance'. All events take place in the RSPB Old Moor Activity Centre.

RSPB Old Moor.
The St Leger connection. Old Moor farm was owned by Colonel Anthony St Leger and Margaret Wombwell until the year of the inaugural St Leger in 1776. St Leger trained his horses on the farm until selling it to The Marquis of Rockingham in 1776.

RSPB Old Moor .
Several tenants of Old Moor Farm served in the Wath Troop of South West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry. SWYYC played an important role at home controlling any civil unrest in the 19th century.

Elsecar Heritage Centre
Learn about Earl Fitzwilliam's village of Elsecar, the Heritage Action Zone work and the memories of local people who worked at nearby Elsecar Main Colliery and the New Yard Workshops. Understanding the recent developments taking place at Elsecar and enjoy fun activities for the children.

Doncaster Archives
Doncaster and its racing connections. An Exhibition that charts the town's long history with horse racing. 2026 will be the 250th anniversary of the world's oldest classic, the St Leger, founded by Colonel Anthony St Leger in 1776.

Friends of Hemingfield Colliery.
History of the Elsecar Branch of the Dearne and Dove Canal 1798 to 1928. The canal was utilised by George Brooke , Auctioneer & Land Agent of Old Moor Farm. Goods purchased abroad would have been transported by barge along the canal on the way to Old Moor.

South Yorkshire Football Historian Chris Brook tells The Story of Mark Crook's Wath Wanderers..... 'Feeding the Wolves'.
