Running from Saturday 12th September to Sunday 20th September a series of 6 exhibitions created by

RSPB OLD MOOR
50 years of conservation at Old Moor in the Dearne Valley. The story of how "The most polluted site in Europe" became a SSSI, Site of Special Scientific Interest"

Organic farming in the seventies to natures oasis of today. The story of fifty years in the life of our farm in the Dearne Valley.

A working farm run by the Gascoigne family which has now become a wildlife haven and place of sanctuary for people.

CITY OF DONCASTER ARCHIVES
The Everyday Histories theme is illustrated in the City of Doncaster Archives display. It shows varied aspects of working lives in Doncaster and district, including women at work, shopworkers, farming and public transport workers.

ELSECAR HERITAGE CENTRE
An exhibition charting the working lives of local people. Exploring the story of local industries from coal production to gas lighting and much more.

WENTWORTH WOODHOUSE
The Heritage and working lives of Wentworth Woodhouse.

FRIENDS OF HEMINGFIELD COLLIERY
Local lives, everyday histories of Elsecar and district spotlighting the story of several local people during 18th to 20th century.

WOMBWELL HERITAGE GROUP
Working lives in Wombwell, from farming village to coal town.

Additional information

Entry to the Exhibition, Courtyard, Cafe and shop is free. Admission to the adjoining RSPB Reserve at Old Moor is , adults £7 children £3.50, members free. However, anyone visiting the Exhibition will receive a discounted admission voucher for entry to the reserve. This voucher applies to RSPB Old Moor only. The six exhibitors will be holding book in advance talks to compliment their exhibitions at nearby Elsecar Heritage Centre . Additionally, Alan Wood and John Snook will be performing "Remember the Coal" at Elsecar Heritage Centre and Hemingfield Colliery (see relevant listings).
