Sea Shanty Flash Mob at Ipswich Heritage Harbour
Sailing Barge Victor, Common Quay, Key Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 1BY
Sea shanties are a wonderful reminder of our maritime past. The songs were often sung to accompany jobs aboard ship, such as hauling sails, or to commemorate heroic events or family back home. The flash mob - somewhere on the Waterfront! - will include old favourites and some modern compositions too. Come along and join in!

This is an outside performance and weather-dependent. Alternative arrangements will be made if it's raining heavily.
The Sea Shanty Flash Mob is part of the maritime festivities organised by the Ipswich Maritime Trust (IMT) during Heritage Open Days on 13th and 14th September. Visitors can also go on board Sailing Barge Victor and other vessels alongside, explore the exhibition of early photos of Ipswich and model ships in the Old Custom House, and look at the display in the IMT's Window Museum on Albion Wharf.
