Sir Edwin Lutyens: made in Surrey
Tilford Road, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 2DA
Known as 'Britain's greatest architect', Lutyens (1869-1944) produced some of the distinguished buildings we treasure today. His Surrey roots explain what shaped his career but what was his winning formula in designing such outstanding gems from Munstead Wood to the Washington Embassy, New Delhi to the Thiepval Memorial and Castle Drogo? This talk will give insight into the maestro's work, his character and legacy and why he deserves our attention.
The venue for this talk is Tilford Village Hall, designed by Lutyens in 1893.
