Pontefract Castle has been painted, drawn and recreated by artists for hundreds of years. Sit and Sketch Sunday is your chance to have a go!

Borrow some paper and paints, and have a go at sketching the things you see at the castle.
Will you focus in or go for a wide open view? The choice is up to you.
Perfect for Sunday afternoon relaxing with friends and family.

This activity is self led- head to the visitor centre to borrow art materials for the day.

Accessibility details

This activity takes place outside at Pontefract Castle. There are level access routes around the castle grounds, as well as to the visitor centre and toilets. There are two parking bays outside the castle gates (WF8 1QH) for blue badge holders. If these are full, please drop off passengers at the castle gates and park in the car park at WF8 2JF, a five minute walk away.
