Join us for a fun afternoon of comic book creation as we discover more about the life and times of Thomasina Farrer, the woman who discovered the Spa waters 400 years ago and set Scarborough on its path as the countries first seaside holiday town.

It’s a special year for Scarborough, 400 years since the discovery of the Spa waters which set the town on its way to becoming the countries first seaside resort but what about the woman who first discovered them?

This fun and creative workshop aims at exploring more about Thomasina Farrer, the local woman who first found the spa waters. Her story spans civil war, civic pride and local philanthropy.

Participants will be guided to create their own unique mini comic inspired by Thomasina’s life and times.
