Discover St. Anne’s, a Temple Moore designed Church from 1910.

 

A Temple Moore designed church, a place of worship for 115 years and serving the community of Longsight, Royton, Oldham, will be open 12th -14th September.

Information regarding the church history, the beautiful stained glass windows and the unique, hand-crafted modern Stations of the Cross will be available in pamphlet form.

Also on display is Arthur Dooley’s Dachau Crucifix, on loan from Gallery Oldham along with information about the Dachau WWII Prison Camp.
Guides will be on hand to answer questions and give help where needed and and after the visit welcome refreshments will be available.

Near the junction of A633(Broadway) and A671(Rochdale/Oldham Rd. If coming from Oldham, quarter mile past Royal Oldham Hospital There is a one-way system in operation from Rochdale Rd. along St. Anne’s Ave, and Mellalieu St to Houghton St. St. Anne’s School is next to the church. Traffic is busy from 1445-1530.

Wheelchair access only to Nave ; other areas... Narthex, Lady Chapel and Choir from street level. Street parking in outside church and in Ormerod Ave. alongside church, Car park available off Broadway (A663) opposite St. Anne's School ...church accessed via Pelican crossing and Ormerod Ave.
