  • Multiple dates available
  • In person

Visit our huge neo-Gothic church - you won't be disappointed! St.Bartholomew's Church towers above the surrounding streets of Armley, an unmistakeable image on the West Leeds skyline. Hear the famous Schulze Organ donated by local Eyres Mill owners!

This magnificent building was begun in 1872 and completed in 1877, the tower being added in 1909, a 21st birthday present for a member of the Eyres’ family. The interior of the church houses a fine font, a remarkable pulpit, an impressive lectern, a wonderfully imposing reredos, and, to cap it all, a unique Schulze organ, installed in a new vaulted gallery in 1879. A History and Guide by Michael Collins, 1990, is still available at the church, price £2.00.
