St Bartholomew's Church, Armley
St. Bartholomew's Church, Armley Vicarage, Wesley Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS12 1SR
This magnificent building was begun in 1872 and completed in 1877, the tower being added in 1909, a 21st birthday present for a member of the Eyres’ family. The interior of the church houses a fine font, a remarkable pulpit, an impressive lectern, a wonderfully imposing reredos, and, to cap it all, a unique Schulze organ, installed in a new vaulted gallery in 1879. A History and Guide by Michael Collins, 1990, is still available at the church, price £2.00.
