St Bartholomew's Church - Guided Tour

For HODs a special guided tour will take place. St Bartholomew’s and its tall spire stands out in its scenic setting adjacent to Corsham Court and its parkland, and the other historic listed buildings of the town centre, including a folly. It is surrounded by a large, peaceful churchyard. The church was built on the original Saxon foundations, with remodelling across the 11th, 12th, 15th and, predominantly, 19th centuries. A major restoration in 1875-78 included the repositioning of the tower and spire. Come and enjoy a guided tour of the church and discover the history of this Corsham landmark, and the people who played a part of that history.

Two other talks/tours are being run at St Bart's: Behind the Needle, on 14 September, tells the stories behind the church kneelers, and The Military Memorials of St Bartholomew's Church features a 45-minute talk followed by a self-guided tour around the various memorials that pay homage to the bravery and sacrifice of Corsham's fighting men. St Bartholomew's Church is normally open daily for visitors from 0900 -1700 (except when a service is taking place).

The tour is open to all ages but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. While most of the church is accessible to wheelchair users/prams and buggies, there are some stepped areas that are not accessible.
