Come and see inside Preston's hidden gem! We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 300 years of our beloved church, witnessing to Jesus in our unique Anglo-Catholic identity. We have a daily Mass, but we'd also love to welcome you over the Heritage Open Days!

Tucked away between shops and car parks lies St George's Church. While our exterior might seem modest and unassuming to passersby, stepping through our doors reveals a breathtaking sanctuary of history, art, and music.

Once inside, the modern city noise quickly fades away, replaced by the awe-inspiring beauty of our peaceful setting. There is so much to explore, including:

- Magnificent Wall Paintings: Our walls are adorned with stunning, unique murals that tell the rich story of our faith. These paintings, created by Shrigley and Hunt between 1885 and 1914, capture the imagination, offering a glorious visual feast.

- The Majestic Father Willis Organ: Built in 1865 by the legendary Victorian organ builder Henry Willis, this magnificent instrument still fills our sacred space with rich, powerful music. Its historic pipes continue to breathe life into our services today.

For three centuries, St George’s has stood as a peaceful sanctuary and a welcoming beacon of community in the heart of Preston. Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a quiet moment of reflection amidst a busy day, there is a warm, peaceful place for you here.

The closest car parks to us are: St George's Shopping Centre and Hill Street Car Park. Approaching us on foot - turn right into the car park of Preston Mobility Centre on the corner of Lune Street where it meets Friargate, and St George’s will be visible on your right hand side.
