St Hilda's Church, Whittaker Lane, Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester M25 1HA
Whittaker Lane, Prestwich, Bury, Greater Manchester, M25 1HA
St Hilda's was built to replace an iron Mission Church, and has served the local community as the Church of England Parish Church since 1904. Th building is a fine late nineteenth and early twentieth-century church, constructed in white-flecked red brick with terracotta dressings, slate roofs and terracotta coped gables.
The building contains some fine examples of church furnishings, including a gilded reredos showing the Epiphany (Visit of the Wise Men to the infant Jesus), and a unique mural of Our Lady of Heaton Park.
We are a few minutes' walk from the Metrolink stop (Heaton Park) and bus routes (135 Bee Network) to Bury and Manchester.
St Hilda's is an active Parish Church in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. In addition to regular worship, we serve the local community with a weekly coffee morning (hosting the NHS Social Prescribers group), and a monthly community drop-in lunch. We look forward very much to welcoming you.
