St John's Burlington Methodist Church is a grade II listed building within the old town of Bridlington. Built in 1884, its distinctive exterior is an important land mark, and without doubt, is the finest non-conformist church building in the town and far beyond.
The Church organ dates from 1893 and is a fine example of a Forster & Andrews pipe organ.

Originally known as The New Wesleyan chapel, the church was designed by the local architect Joseph Earnshaw (1845-1914) and was completed on 2nd July 1884 at a cost of £3,892.
Earnshaw was born at Heanor, Derbyshire, the son of a builder and moved to Bridlington in 1869 following his marriage to Eliza Moore in 1866.
He became the foremost architect of many Victorian chapels, including The Congregational Church (Trinity 1879) and the United Methodist Free Church 1872, both on the Promenade. The Salvation Army Citadel 1877, Wetwang Wesleyan 1886, Foston Wesleyan 1879, Rudston Wesleyan 1879, Flamborough Wesleyan 1889,
