St John’s Parish Church, Goole– Open Day & Crypt Tours
St John's Church, Church Street, Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, DN14 5BA
The Parish Church of St John the Evangelist was built in 1843-1848 to the designs of William Hurst and W B Moffat. The Church was built on land donated by the Aire & Calder Navigation Company and forms a part of the Company Town of Goole. The Church is home to a wide range of memorials, plaques and stained glass windows, including a rare WW1 Stained Glass Photographic Memorial Window, which demonstrate Goole’s maritime and military history. Local historians will be in attendance on the day with displays and information on Goole’s heritage linked to the Church.
