St Johns Church, Keynsham. Guided Tower and Ringing Room Tour with Bell Ringer Demonstration on a Thursday evening only

These tours will be for those who wish to see and hear six of the bells being rung on our normal practice night. The tour will visit the ringing room for a brief talk on the tower, bells and clock, plus a demonstration of six of the bells being rung by our local band of ringers. Tours will need to be booked and will be limited to 8 people. The tour will take about 30 minutes and will not include a visit to the top of the tower.

There will be no charge for the tours, but donations will be welcome for the Bell Rope Fund.

Accessibility details

The stairs are steep and narrow, and some may find them claustrophobic. Those with certain health conditions should carefully consider the wisdom of making the climb. Sensible flat soled shoes must be worn – no flipflops. The church insurance does not cover children under eight making the climb, so they will not be allowed. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No bags to be taken up the tower so that both hands are free. (Cameras will be allowed). Secure bag storage will be provided in the church.
