This Grade 1 listed church has been described as one of the finest medieval churches in Yorkshire.

St.Mary’s Church is a Grade 1 listed building and has been described as one of the finest medieval churches in Yorkshire. The oldest parts of the building date back to the time of the castle (1109). It was during the fourteenth and especially the fifteenth centuries that the church was considerably extended both upwards and outwards. There are associations with John of Gaunt and Tickhill Castle.

See the restored Fitzwilliam tomb housed in the church for over 450 years and hear about the sad tale that led to the Foljambe tomb with Louise Blanche Foljambe and her baby son.

Displays of the history and heritage will be available along with members of the church who will be happy to answer questions.
