An opportunity to visit St Mary's Church, designed by local architect John Alick Thomas, replacing a temporary iron church which in turn, after a gap of over 300 years, had replaced the medieval Cuddington Church demolished by Henry VIII to make way for Nonsuch Palace. A free leaflet points out some of the features of the building with its Victorian and modern stained glass.
A special display will tell the story of the church and its congregation year by year, marking the 130th anniversary of the opening of the present church building.
A local birdwatching group will provide a display about birds of Cuddington and Worcester Park over the years.
A local author, David Stemp, will be attending with a display about the history of Worcester Park Athletic Club and copies of his books about the Club and his life with Border collies.
There will be a small exhibition about the story of architecture in Cuddington and Worcester Park.
Visitors will be able to enjoy music played on the organ installed by Henry Willis and Sons in 1896, including works by Bruce Steane who was organist at St Mary's in c1898-1900.
