St Michaels Church Headingley Heritage Open Days
St Michaels Church, St Michaels Road, Headingley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS6 3AW
We are arranging a series of talks and exhibitions on the Everyday Histories theme from; parishioners, local schools and local historians. The church will be open to view the exhibits on Sat September 12th, 11am-3pm and Sunday 13th 12-5pm.
There will be opportunities to wander around the beautiful interiors of the church, visit the bell tower and listen to the splendid organ. The newly formed Friends of St Michaels Graveyard will be available to talk about their work and future plans for creating a Pocket Park in the graveyard for the use of the current Everyday People of Headingley, building on the past histories and creating space to generate new ones.
Refreshments will be served throughout.
A full diary of events will be announced on the church website www.stmichaelsheadingley.org in August.
Everyone will be warmly welcomed and if you wish to bring along a story of a family member who lived (lives) or worked (works) in Headingley there will be a book to record their story in.
