Friday 11 September, 19.30 - 21.00. The Story of Armitage Bridge. The speaker is a local historian who has recently published a history of the village and his talk will be illustrated with maps and old photographs he has collected. The talk is free and will be followed by a light supper for which there will be a charge.
Saturday 12 September, 10.00 - 16.00. The church will be open and visitors will be able to contrast the shell of the original building which survived a devastating fire in 1986 and the rebuilt interior. Some old church registers will be on display as well as photographs and artefacts covering the 178 years that the church has been the centre of village life. Churchyard tours will be conducted by members of Huddersfield and District Family History Society.
