Who remembers the old Church of St Pauls North Shore? Demolished in 1992, worship continued in the church hall. See the history of St Pauls from Mouse man furniture to artifacts and photos dating back to the opening of the old church in the 1890s.

The original Church of St Pauls North Shore was a tin building that cost £1,000 and was opened in 1895. It had seating for 500 people and it was full for all services. It was soon realised that a larger, more substantial building was needed.

The foundation stone for the new Church was laid in 1897, also built at that time were the Vicarage and the Church hall. Church life progressed through the years through two world wars when soldiers used the Church hall for recreation purposes and during WW2 evacuees stayed in the hall until they were chosen by a family who would care for them. The years passed and Guiding and Scouting came to St Pauls, along with The Rose Queen and her retinue, all of whom joined in the annual Whitsuntide walk along with The Clergy, Choir and all members of the congregation. Maybe you were amongst them? Come and see the photos and memorabilia, maybe you will see yourself in some of them.

Unfortunately the years took there toll on the Church building and in the early 1990s it was decided to demolish the Church and move into the Church hall where we still worship today. But memories still linger on, if you come to visit us you can still see some of the Mouse man furniture and many artifacts and photos that are the foundation of what we are today.
