St Peter's Church, Stapenhill has been welcoming the people of Burton and South Derbyshire for centuries. The medieval church was replaced in 1881 by the present church built by the Clay family and Burton brewing firms. St Peter's Church, is designated as Grade II for the following principal reasons for being a well-designed large town church retaining late C19 character and interior detail, with a fine tower and C15 and C18 monuments of special interest
Sitting in Stapenhill Gardens, alongside the Ferry Bridge crossing the River Trent, the Church and its clock is a familiar landmark in Burton and the subject of many a photo and postcard.
Tours of the tower will be available (weather permitting). Age restricted for children over 8 in the company of a parent/guardian.
