St Wilfrid’s Church, South Stainley, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 3NE
The church is a beautiful building on the edge of the village, surrounded by farmland. It was built in 1850 on the site of an older church. The church has some unique features. There are many spectacular stained glass windows, with two in particular having been designed by Theodora Salusbury, a famous artist and craftswoman in the Arts and Crafts style who worked during the 1930s. In addition, there is a very rare American reed organ that was built by the Arolian Organ Company. Furthermore, there are multiple wood carvings around the church, including the altar rail, back panel, chairs, candle holders, and a lovely Mouseman altar. To share these beautiful features, we will be holding a flower festival for the duration of the HODs alongside an exhibition on the architectural features of the church and the history of the village. We will also have a children’s treasure hunt where they can learn more about the church by answering questions about the building from information around the church.

We apologies but there are no toilet facilities on site and the church being up a small hill is not wheelchair friendly. All dogs are welcome, not just assistance dogs.
