Sundays 13th and 20th September 1100-1600
Welcome aboard to see what life was like on a 1940s steamship. SS Freshspring is the last remaining of 14 ‘Fresh Class’ water carriers built between 1939 and 1946 by the Lytham Shipbuilding and Engineering Company to act as water supply vessels - replenishing water used by steam turbines in warships. Freshspring has been moored in Bideford since 2016 and is being restored by Steamship Freshspring Charity.
