Immersive theatre performance taking place in the Green House where visitors will learn about the British Restaurants in public spaces in WW2 and the public canteen which was located in Victoria Park.

Step back into wartime Britain with this immersive theatre performance by Red Sauce Theatre, taking place inside the Green House. Through live action, characters and storytelling, visitors will be transported to the world of British Restaurants, government‑run public canteens created during the Second World War to provide affordable, nourishing meals and maintain morale on the Home Front.

The performance brings to life the sights, sounds and social atmosphere of a British Restaurant, including the public canteen that once operated in Victoria Park.
