This year we celebrate our 125th Anniversary! Founded by Edwin Heys (the organist's son from Stockport Unitarian Church) so that the disgraced Church Dramatic Society could continue with their plans for a production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.
Have you ever wondered what work goes on backstage to present a play? Why not take the opportunity to find out, take a physical tour of the Garrick Theatre. Stockport Garrick was established in 1901 and has occupied the current premises since 1920. It is part of an old mill building on the A6, near to The Hat Museum, and as such it is a veritable rabbit warren.
