A rare chance to visit this wonderful heritage museum housed in Stocksbridge's historic town hall, where you will discover a unique collection of rare Bolsterstone glass dating from the 17th century, and pottery produced in Midhope and Stocksbridge during the 18th-19th centuries.
The museum houses an eclectic and quirky collection of rare and unique artifacts, from razor blades (95% of the world's razor blades used to be made in Stocksbridge!) and antique umbrellas (Stocksbridge is the birthplace of the modern umbrella) to fascinating documents giving a glimpse into life in a northern town built on the steel industry which still lies at the heart of the town.
There'll be showings of the restored iconic 1958 film 'Steel Town' and you can chat to knowledgeable local historians as you discover the treasures in this hidden gem.
Make a day of it and visit Fox Valley just around the corner where you will find shops, restaurants, cafes and more and 2 hours free parking.
A must for anyone interested in Sheffield history and heritage.

Wheelchair access is to the side of the building. The town hall has a very small car park, visitors coming by car can park free in Fox Valley 2 minutes walk away (up to 2 hours free parking). The 57 & 57a buses from Sheffield City Centre stop nearby.
