  • In person

In this 200th year since Railways were first invented, this walk, along part of the popular Hayling Puffing Billy line, will discuss how this key development of steam engines pumping water from mines came to move freight across the country

200 years ago the world’s first public railway steamed up in County Durham. The factors behind this historic development will be outlined as we also explore the history of our local railway station and the Hayling Billy line while strolling to Langstone.

A circular 90 minute gentle, flat walk starting and finishing at The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre.
