Visit the Research Centre of the Surrey Archaeological Society to explore the specialist library and meet a working party studying and cataloguing medieval pottery from previous excavations. Other displays will be available on site.

The Society uses the buildings on site for all forms of archaeological research available to a volunteer run charity. Visitors are welcome to view the journal and pamphlet collections and our volunteers will be happy to discuss their activities with you.

Directions:
The Surrey Archaeological Society Research Centre is based in the old school. It can be accessed from a relatively steep lane off Hackhurst Lane and immediately opposite the Abinger Cookery School.

Accessibility details

This site is not easily accessible for those in wheelchairs, and the toilet space is small being designed for children to use. There is no parking available nearby.

Additional information

The rooms are not spacious so movement around may occasionally be constrained although if the weather is good the playground area is available for an open air demonstration of environmental sampling.
