Tabley House was once the home of the Leicester family. Within the State Rooms of this Grade I listed House, visitors can view a unique collection of paintings, furniture and memorabilia which belonged to the family over the centuries.
In keeping with the Heritage Open Days theme for 2026, there will be a new display about one of Tabley's servants, Obadiah Hewitt. In the Victorian period Obadiah Hewitt was first Tabley's Footman, then promoted to the position of Under Butler and finally to Butler. On display will be his treasured photograph album with photographs of the family and fellow servants alongside transcribed dairies from his travels with the 2nd Lord de Tabley in Egypt.
Entry is free on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September from 1pm until 5pm with last entry at 4.30pm.
St Peter's Chapel will also be open, as will the Tabley Tea Room offering light lunches, cakes and afternoon teas from 12 noon until 5pm.

- For cars please enter the estate from the A5033. Follow the burgundy coloured signs which take visitors off to the right and follow them all the way to the gravel car park. From there continue to follow the bugundy coloured signs on foot, walking around the far side of the Chapel and over looking the lake. To enter the House go up the grand exterior staircase.

Accessibility details
The State Rooms and tea room are accessible for wheelchair users, push chairs, and others with mobility impairments. Whilst the tea room is accessed via a ramp, those visiting the House need to use a separate entrance with a lift. Please ring the office on 01565 750151 and assistance to use the lift will be given.
