Talk by Dr Nick Evans as part of the exhibition Cześć, to my! (Hi, it’s us!) - Over 100 years of the Polish community in East Yorkshire

In the early, mid and late Victorian periods, followed by later arrivals before and after the Second World War, the East Riding witnessed both Catholic and Jewish Polish migrants finding home in the county. This illustrated presentation explores the reasons for migration from Poland and fascinating hidden stories. Dr Nick Evans is Senior Lecturer in Diaspora History and Deputy Director of the Wilberforce Institute at the University of Hull. The talk is part of the exhibition Cześć, to my! (Hi, it’s us!) which is on display in the Champney Treasure House Museum (first floor) from 13 June to 3 October.
