Tell your stories of what home means to you
Burton Latimer Heritage Museum, Harold Mason centre, 120 High Street, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, NN15 5RH
Come along to Burton Latimer Heritage Museum 10am-12.30pm on Thursday 17th September to share your stories of your home.
Burton Latimer Heritage Museum is working with Northampton Museum & Art Gallery to develop two new exhibitions, "Home", opening February–July 2027 in Northampton and March- June in Burton Latimer.
Home isn’t just a place – it’s a feeling, a memory, a culture, a story. These new exhibitions will explore what “home” means to people across Northamptonshire and in Burton Latimer, giving voice to lived experiences that aren’t always seen in museums. We're looking for the memories, moments and everyday rituals that make a house a home for upcoming exhibitions about the home. Does your kitchen host family celebrations? Is there a chair in your living room filled with special memories? Has your garden played an important role in your life?
We'd love to hear your stories and discover what "home" means to our community.
Whether you live in a town or village, a terraced house, stately home, or canal boat, come in and tell your story.
There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available, and folders of old photos of Burton Latimer to browse through. Our current exhibition "Don't Panic!" a History of Burton Latimer's Emergency Services, will also be open.
